As I sit here watching the news, I see that President Obama is visiting Buchenwald Death Camp.  He is the first American President to do so.  I am proud that he is speaking out against those who deny the Holocaust, especially the Iranian President.  I am also in hope that we can concentrate on the atrocities that are currently taking place in the world starting with Darfur and potentially Rwanda (again). His speech in Cairo included a scathing indictment of those who question the Holocaust. To do so, he said, “is baseless, it is ignorant, and it is hateful.” In a reference to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has expressed doubts that 6 million Jews died at the hands of the Nazis and who has urged that Israel be wiped from the map, Obama said, “Threatening Israel with destruction or repeating vile stereotypes about Jews is deeply wrong and only serves to evoke in the minds of the Israelis this most painful of memories while preventing the peace that the people of this region deserve.”

I couldn’t believe my eyes one morning aws I was walking to class at ASU.  I looked down and saw, for the first time in my life, a chipmunk!  He was so cute, I wanted to pick him up but I really like all of my fingers in tact so I resisted the urge!  It really was exciting though. :)

So yesterday Bryan, Clay and I went to Walmart to pick up a few essentials (we are in Boone at the ABSPD Institute).  I was cool with my surroundings in the dorm until Bryan and his obsessive self went to get flip-flops because he didn’t want to get a foot fungus in the shower.  Of course I freaked out because I hate the idea of feet and feet with fungus are beyond my comprehension!  What did I do? I had to get a pair of flip-flops too.  I tried to dismiss it but Clay made a remark about “flesh eating fungus” and that pretty much did me in.  Sheesh…men.
